Frequently Asked Questions

How do I import a LUT?

In the looks row, tap Add LUT and choose the file from Files. Just Grade imports .cube LUTs, both 3D and 1D.

My LUT looks wrong. What do I do?

Each imported LUT is marked automatically as “Expects log” or “Expects Rec.709”. If it looks wrong, long-press the LUT and switch it to the other setting.

My clip isn’t detected as log.

Tap the profile pill at the top left and pick the right profile. Just Grade detects Apple Log, Apple Log 2, iPhone HDR (HLG) and PQ from the file. Camera files that aren’t tagged need their profile picked by hand: Sony S-Log3, Panasonic V-Log, ARRI LogC3 or Fujifilm F-Log2.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

Just Grade is free to download and grade. Free includes everything up to 1080p HEVC and H.264 export, the built-in looks, 2 imported LUTs, 3 recipes, and the waveform. Just Grade Pro adds 4K and full-resolution export, ProRes, 10-bit HEIC frames, color wheels, grain and halation in exports, the parade and vectorscope, and unlimited LUTs and recipes. You can preview Pro features for free; export asks for Pro, and you can always export without them.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. The yearly plan renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and never renews.

How do I restore Pro?

Open Just Grade, go to Settings, and tap “Restore Purchases”. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you used for the original purchase.

Where do my exports go?

Choose Save to Photos to put the export in your photo library, or Share to send it somewhere else, such as Files.

Does Just Grade upload my videos?

No. Everything is processed on your iPhone. There is no account, and your clips, LUTs, projects and recipes stay on your device. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
