Just Roll ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our teleprompter application.

Our Privacy Philosophy

Just Roll is built with privacy at its core. We believe your scripts and recordings are your business, not ours. That's why we designed the app to work entirely on your device without requiring accounts, cloud storage, or data collection.

Information We Don't Collect

Just Roll does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Your scripts or written content
  • Your video recordings
  • Personal information or identifiers
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Contact information

Local Data Storage

All data created within Just Roll—including your scripts, settings, and preferences—is stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it using iOS sharing features, save videos to your photo library, or back up your device (for example, with iCloud Backup).

Camera and Microphone Access

Just Roll requires access to your device's camera and microphone to function as a teleprompter with video recording capabilities. This access is:

  • Only used when you actively record within the app
  • Never used to collect or transmit data
  • Controlled entirely by you through iOS permissions

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app.

On-Device Speech Recognition (Take Reports)

If you allow speech recognition, Just Roll can review takes you keep in the app's Takes library and create a Take Report (for example, lines you skipped or stumbled on, pauses, and speaking pace). This works as follows:

  • Speech is recognized by Apple's speech recognition running on your device. Your audio is not sent to us or to anyone else.
  • A take is reviewed after you finish recording, not while you record. Takes saved only to your Camera Roll are not reviewed.
  • The word-by-word transcript is used only while the report is being made and is not saved. The report itself (including a copy of the script you read) is stored on your device and is deleted when you delete the take.
  • The first time you use this feature, iOS may download Apple's speech recognition language files from Apple. No recordings are sent as part of that download.

You can turn off speech recognition for Just Roll at any time in your device's Settings app.

Apple Intelligence (Script Coach)

The Script Coach can rewrite a script to sound more natural, tighten it to a target length, suggest opening lines, or draft a script from your notes. It uses Apple's on-device Apple Intelligence model, so the script or notes you give it are processed on your device and are not sent to us or to any AI service. If Apple Intelligence is not available on your device, the Script Coach does not work; there is no online fallback.

In-App Purchases

Just Roll offers optional in-app purchases through Apple's App Store. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple, and we do not have access to your payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle payment data.

Third-Party Services

Just Roll does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share any information with third parties.

Children's Privacy

Just Roll does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is designed to work without collecting personal information from users of any age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
