These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Just Split mobile application (the “App”) operated by On World Tech LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Just Split is a bill-splitting application that allows you to divide expenses among multiple people. The App provides features including manual bill entry, receipt scanning using AI-powered text extraction, split calculations, and payment request generation via SMS and Venmo.

3. In-App Purchases

3.1 Just Split Pro

The App offers a premium upgrade (“Just Split Pro”) available as a one-time lifetime purchase of $14.99 USD (price may vary by region). Pro features include ad-free usage and additional functionality as described in the App.

3.2 Payment and Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process payments or refunds directly.

4. User Responsibilities

  • Bill Accuracy: You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of bill amounts, split calculations, and payment requests generated by the App.
  • Contact Consent: When using the App to send payment requests via SMS or Venmo, you are responsible for ensuring you have the recipient’s consent to receive such messages.
  • Lawful Use: You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any accounts linked to the App.

5. Receipt Scanning and AI

The App uses AI-powered text extraction (via Google Gemini API) to scan receipts and extract bill information. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-based text extraction may not always be accurate. You should verify all extracted data before using it for calculations.
  • Receipt images are transmitted to Google’s servers for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  • The quality of text extraction depends on image quality, receipt format, and other factors outside our control.

6. Payment Requests

The App allows you to generate and send payment requests via SMS messages and Venmo deep links. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Just Split is not a payment processor. We do not handle, process, or guarantee any financial transactions.
  • Payment requests are generated as a convenience feature. Actual payments are processed through third-party services (Venmo, your bank, etc.).
  • We are not responsible for any disputes arising from payments or payment requests made through the App.
  • Standard messaging rates may apply when sending SMS payment requests.

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Google Gemini API, Google AdMob, Apple StoreKit, and Venmo. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by On World Tech LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, On World Tech LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the App;
  • Inaccurate bill calculations or receipt scanning results;
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of your device;
  • Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content in the App;
  • Any disputes related to payments or payment requests generated through the App.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
